MAGIC FIBER
The coolest thing about them isn't just their adorable looks.
Alpacas are incredible creatures because they turn water, sunshine, and grass into the most magical fiber in all the world!
It's true!
The sunshine & rain grows our lush pastures.
The alpacas feast on the fresh grass in summer & then dried hay in the the winter.
Come spring time, their long locks grow into the beautiful fleece.
HERD IS THE WORD
They’re a herd animal, which means they love to stick together
Which means, follow-the-leader is a way of life
So when they find a new patch of tasty grass or when they see guests arriving…
They instinctively being an alpaca parade! Just wait ‘til you see them all coming gracefully towards you. When you experience the alpaca herd altogether, you’ll forget the day’s worries and be reminded of the joy in simply being alive.
SOPHISTICATED SILLINESS
Don’t let their big, soulful eyes fool you!
They’re as hilarious as they are enchanting.
On a warm day, they love to take a shower from the garden hose and then immediately roll in dirt.
But I know everyone wants to know ~
DO THEY SPIT?
Technically, yes, but spitting is just as gross of an experience for them, so it’s pretty rare. At least within our herd.
They’d much rather take a fun selfie with you than spit!
ECO ‘PACAS
They’ve been ‘eco friendly’ before it was a marketing buzz.
That makes them gentle on the earth, gently aerating the pastures as they graze.
Unlike hard hooves that contribute to soil erosion.
And of course that makes for some of the coolest footprints ever.
They also don’t have top teeth.
This allows them to graze without uprooting grasses. And makes for an incredible hand feeding experience.
And we can’t forget about their poo. They don’t call it Black Gold for nothing!
Their bean shaped droppings contain just enough nutrients to be beneficial to be used right out of the field, without composting.
The fact they make tidy communal dung piles (no training required!) makes it super easy to collect and use.
Besides, have you seen the flowers I grow with this stuff?!

Our alpacas are content with the everydayness of life in a way that’ll make you pause.
