What’s in a Private Farm Visit?

There’s something about stepping onto a working farm that just feels different - in the best way. The pace slows down, the air feels a little fresher, and you can’t help but relax a bit. That’s exactly what our private farm tours are all about.

If you’re visiting Walla Walla wine country (or you’re local and just need a change of pace), this is a chance to experience something a little quieter, a little more personal, and a lot more memorable.

A More Personal Way to Visit the Farm

Our private tours are just for you and your group - no crowds, no rushing, no trying to see over someone else’s shoulder. You can take your time, ask questions, and really settle into the experience.

It’s easygoing and flexible, whether you’re visiting with friends, bringing family along, or planning something a little special while you’re in Walla Walla.

Meet the Alpacas (Up Close)

Let’s be honest - this is why most people come. And it never disappoints.

You’ll spend time up close with our alpacas, getting to know their personalities (yes, they all have them), learning about their fleece, and maybe finding a favorite or two. They’re gentle, curious, and incredibly easy to fall in love with.

If you visit before shearing, you’ll see them in full fleece ((maximum floof)) which is always a crowd favorite.

More to Explore Around the Farm

Beyond the alpacas, there’s so much more to take in.

You’ll get to wander through our dye garden, where many of the plants we use for natural color are grown right here on the farm. We’ll also step inside our dye studio - a charming old milking parlor from the 1950s that we’ve lovingly repurposed into a creative space full of color and creative process.

We’ll make a stop in our historic barn, original to the farm and dating back to the 1870s. It’s one of those places that holds onto its history - you can feel it the moment you walk in.

And depending on the season, you may also get to stroll through our cutting gardens, where we grow the flowers used in our bouquets. In the summer months, they’re especially abundant and full of life.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Farm Life

This isn’t a “stand back and observe” kind of tour. You’ll get a real look at what daily life on the farm actually feels like - how we care for the animals, what’s happening in the pastures, and what changes with the seasons.

If you’ve ever been curious about small-scale farming, fiber animals, or where your flowers come from, this is your chance to ask all the questions.

Family-Friendly (and Actually Enjoyable for Everyone)

We’ve designed these tours to be truly family friendly - meaning kids can explore, move around, and engage, while adults still feel like they’re having a meaningful experience too.

It’s hands-on, relaxed, and the kind of outing that works just as well for a family day as it does for a low-key wine country weekend stop.

A Different Kind of Wine Country Experience

Walla Walla is known for its incredible wineries - and we love that. But sometimes it’s nice to mix in something a little slower and more grounded.

A farm visit pairs perfectly with a day of wine tasting. It gives you a chance to step away from the tasting rooms, get outside, and experience a different side of Walla Walla wine country.

Slow Down, Stay Awhile

More than anything, this is a chance to slow down. To put your phone away, breathe a little deeper, and spend time somewhere that feels real.

No pressure, no rush - just fresh air, open space, and a bunch of very charming alpacas.

If you’re planning a trip to Walla Walla, or just looking for a family-friendly outing that feels a little different, we’d love to have you out to the farm.

Come wander, meet the alpacas, and see what makes this place so special.

And if you’re not quite ready to leave it all behind, our farm store will be open - stocked with hats, scarves, and yarn made from the alpacas you just met. It’s only available exclusively here, not online or on Amazon.

Before You Visit (A Few Helpful Notes)

  • Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes you don’t mind getting a little dusty or muddy—you’ll be out in the field feeding alpacas up close

  • Dress for the weather (this is a working farm, and we’re outdoors most of the time)

  • Bring a hat and sunscreen on sunny days—there’s plenty of open sky out here

  • Bring water to stay hydrated, especially in warmer months

  • Don’t forget your camera (or phone)—and your sense of adventure

  • We have an outhouse and handwashing station available for guests

  • No dogs, please (even if they stay in the car—this is for the safety of our animals)

  • Please arrive on time, but not more than 15 minutes early, as we’ll still be getting everything ready & opening the main gate
